Dr. Diana Dimitrova is a research assistant in the Intellectual Properties Rights Department at FIZ Karlsruhe. She researches and publishes on a wide variety of data protection topics, especially on the rights of data subjects and on data protection topics in the migration context. In August 2021, Diana defended her PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel on the topic of the rights of access and rectification in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice. She is the Co-Editor of the biweekly „Data Protection Insider“ Newsletter. Diana is one of the core members of the annual CPDP (Computers, Privacy and Data Protection) Conference. Before joining FIZ Karlsruhe, Diana was a research assistant from 2012-2016 at KU Leuven, Belgium, where she researched on data protection topics in the framework of EU FP-7 research project. In 2012 she completed an internship at the EDPS in Brussels. Diana holds an LL.M. in European law at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands.
