Franziska Boehm at Leibniz podcast “Tonspur Wissen“: Who’s afraid of Artificial Intelligence?

Karlsruhe, November 18, 2024 — How can AI technology be regulated? Can these regulations be implemented at an international level? And why does AI need to be regulated at all? Journalist Ursula Weidenfeld talked to Prof. Dr. Franziska Boehm from FIZ Karlsruhe about these exciting questions as part of the Leibniz podcast “Tonspur Wissen”. Among other things, Prof. Boehm explains why it is important to know the quality of the data used to train artificial intelligence, why AI nevertheless reproduces prejudices and may therefore act in a discriminatory manner, which AI systems, such as automated recognition, are classified as “high-risk systems” and which AI practices are prohibited - and why.
