German Digital Library (DDB)

The German Digital Library (DDB) gives all users access to Germany's digitized cultural and scientific heritage, i.e., books, music, works of art, films, photographs, files, manuscripts and much more. To this end, the DDB cooperates with hundreds of cultural and scientific institutions (archives, libraries, museums, heritage conservation and research institutions), whose holdings and collections the DDB makes visible online. Millions of objects from all cultural sectors and genres can now be searched free of charge in the DDB.

We are a member of the DDB competence network and its technical operator. In this function we are responsible for the technical and administrative operation of the central infrastructure. Since mid-2018, we have also been responsible for the software development of all DDB core systems.
