EEZU

In Germany, archival sources are distributed among a large number of different institutions. Access to these sources often poses considerable challenges to researchers. In particular, small, very small, and medium-sized archives often lack the necessary IT infrastructure for the digital recording and management as well as online access to their holdings.

Together with the State Archives of Baden-Württemberg, we have developed EEZU, an easy indexing and access system for small archives, which we now want to put into use as “Software as a Service”. This offers the possibility of easy indexing and allows for content to be provided online through an integrated programming interface. Data can also be exported, for example, for Archivportal-D. EEZU is not a comprehensive archival specialist information system.
