FIZ Karlsruhe receives funds from "Neustart Kultur" for the restructuring of the German Digital Library

The focus is on new formats and media for interactive participation and participatory cultural education.

September 17, 2020 — Making Germany’s cultural heritage accessible online and providing a low-threshold way to experience it is a major goal of the German Digital Library. For its project "Nutzerorientierte Neustrukturierung" (user-oriented restructuring) it is now receiving funding from the support program NEUSTART KULTUR of the Minister of State for Culture and Media (BKM). The focus is on new formats and media for interactive participation and participatory cultural education.
FIZ Karlsruhe plays an important role in this project. Work will focus on the renewal of the frontend, the development of a knowledge graph and the integration of high-resolution formats like images and 3D objects.
Project partners are Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz and the German National Library. The project will run for 16 months, i.e., from September 2020 until December 2021.
