The National Research Data Infrastructure (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur - NFDI) is taking shape. In 2019 the NFDI directorate was founded in Karlsruhe, with FIZ Karlsruhe and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) managing the relevant tasks during the founding stage. In March 2020, Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter was appointed Director, and in June 2020 the first round of funding for the NFDI consortia ended.
This development was accompanied by an online discussion on the topic “Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur – neue Perspektiven in der kooperativen Wissenschaft!“ (National Research Data Infrastructure – new perspectives in collaborative science) held on September 09, 2020 and organized by UBremen Research Allianz. Among the participants was Sabine Brünger-Weilandt, President & CEO of FIZ Karlsruhe. View the full-length video of this interesting online discussion.
